2019 also marks 105 years since Armageddon was supposed to have come. 94 years since it was supposed to have come again. 44 years since it was supposed to have come yet again. Take your pick for all the other times it was supposed to have come.

Library now cleared out
by UnshackleTheChains inwell, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.
during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.
i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

Someway need to get this information into the cloud to out survive us
Quite a few someone's have. Virtually every book, booklet, Watchtower, Golden Age/Consolation/Awake! that Russell and the WTS have ever published - it’s all up there somewhere. Here's just a few places;
https://archive.org/download/WatchtowerLibrary/
https://wtarchive.wordpress.com/english/
https://avoidjw.org/magazines/
http://www.a2z.org/wtarchive/archive.htm
http://www.strictlygenteel.co.uk/
http://www.ctrussell.us/ctrussell.nsf/Watchtower?OpenView
I honestly can't think of anything printed in such quantity which has proved to be less useful
True, but it’s useful now. Useful in debunking their bullshit, so the rubish bin is the last place it should go

Another silly Bible story...brought to you by the ''old and tired Moses''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inexodus 17:8-16 new international version (niv)the amalekites defeated8 the amalekites came and attacked the israelites at rephidim.
9 moses said to joshua, “choose some of our men and go out to fight the amalekites.
tomorrow i will stand on top of the hill with the staff of god in my hands.”10 so joshua fought the amalekites as moses had ordered, and moses, aaron and hur went to the top of the hill.

I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven
My copy of this says, "I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven", but either way, Jah's done the exact opposite by inspiring Moses to record it in his infallible Word. Doh!

I don’t get it. We all know they don’t like their sheep looking at the really old stuff, but when did they ask people to get rid of their WT CDs? The Watchtower CD is still available on-line, and the WT On-line Library still has Watchtowers going back to 1950, and Awakes & KMs going back to 1970, so you can still view on jw.org the infamous encouragement given in 1974 to sell your house and enter the pioneer service. And the KH Library is a reference library, just because you can’t take the books out doesn’t mean you can’t read them. I have copies of virtually every magazine and book they’ve published since 1874, so while burning hard copies is a tragedy, it’s too late. The truth is out there.

Yet another example why you can't reason with a JW
by nowwhat? inso i mentioned to my pimi brother that the org.
only grew by 1.4 % 2 years in row and if you factor in the birthrate of 1.1 % that's only 3/10 of 1% growth for all that hard work.
i thought people would be streaming to the mountain of jehovah in the last days?

This might sound strange, but I've not come across the acronym PIMI before. After a quick search on this site I’m none the wiser, except that I came across POMO, which I have also not heard of. Can someone please tell me what they mean?

Up until the 1935 teaching was changed, that number was going down. Thereafter, it never stopped going up.
Not quite true. From 1953-1969 the number continued to go down every year, halving from 19,183 to 10,360. From 1971-2005 it went down more times than it went up, starting at 10,526 and ending at 8,524. Since then however, it has gone up every year, and at an alarming rate for the GB, more than doubling, now standing at its highest level since they started publishing the figures.I may be wrong but I think that’s the first time ever that the number of congregations has gone down.
You are not wrong - it's the first decrease since they started publishing the fingures in the Yearbooks.
have they really published the average figure this year
Yes, and they published it last year as well, but in the summary, not the tables.
(say from 65 years of age and older) are highly useless due to their age
Hey man, steady on. I'm 65, and I might be useless, but not "highly" useless!

For those who still argue that the Watchtower did not specifically state that 1975 would see Armageddon, consider what they did say;
1. The 1000 year reign of Christ would start within a few years of 1968.
2. Armageddon would come before the 1000 year reign of Christ starts.
3. The 1000 year reign of Christ would end before the end of God’s 7th creative Day.
4. God’s creative Day is 7000 years long.
5. God’s 7th Day started a few weeks or months after Adam was created.
6. Adam was created in 4026 BCE.
So while it is true that the Watchtower did not use the words, “Armageddon will come by 1975”, these six statements are saying precisely that.
For reference see, Watchtower, May 1, 1968, page 272, par 7, and Watchtower, August 15, 1968, page 499, par 30.

Bungi Bill – I certainly can’t deny I fell for it. I was only 16 in 1969 when I swallowed this rubbish and quit school to pioneer. In 1970 I wanted contact lenses, and the optician told me that they will generally last for five years before they will need replacing. I made myself look stupid by telling her that that’s all the time I will need them for.
As the actual year approached however, I, along with most others in our congregation, were not so sure. It all hinged on the length of time from Adam’s creation to the end of the sixth day. We weren’t so sure it was only months, as Freddie claimed, so our certainty was nothing like it was five years earlier.
